Kaden's Many Hairstyles

Well it has been a month since we last posted anything. We did the poll on our last post and never got on to say how much he actually weighed at his last visit. He weighed 20 lbs. but apparently he doesn't look it. The camera must add 5 lbs. I will also try and stay away from horizontal strips. Maybe I will start putting him in black too.
We went through our camera from the last month and saw we had taken lots of photos of Kade's hair. Here are a few of our favorites.

This is what Kaden's hair looks like after he screams in his bed for two hours. His hair is so thin the picture doesn't even do it justice.
This is his hair after he takes a bath and his mom styles it with lotion. It's a good thing we didn't have a girl.

Sleepless Fire-Breathing Dragon

We had a wonderful week with my Dad coming to visit from Ohio, my sister from Idaho, and hanging out with my family that lives here in Utah. I think I gained 5 lbs from the few meals we made and the many my Dad treated us to. Kaden also had his 9 month check up yesterday. He is 10 months but somehow he got a month behind on his visits to the doctor.
I have been off track for the past week and still get to enjoy time off with Kaden the rest of this week. We had some great moments and some not so great moments. I am trying to not be such a push over with him sleeping in his crib. So my goal for while I am off track is to try and get him to take a nap with out being rocked to sleep or comforted for hours at his cribside. He has also been waking up around 5:00 in the moring and I just bring him into bed with us and rock him back to sleep. I wouldn't be able to sleep because he is so heavy and he would lay on my chest and I would have trouble breathing.
So I started this plan of letting him cry it out on Friday. He woke up at 5 am and cried until 7 am. He went down for his nap at 10 am and cried until 11:30. After all those hours of crying I couldn't take it and I got him out. So all he learned for his morning nap was that if he cries for an hour and a half his mom will finally give in. Then Mike came home Friday afternoon and I went to my sister to get a break. Mike put him down at 2pm and he cried until 4pm, then he fell asleep. We are on day 5 of this and he still cries anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. Other than nap time he has been a very happy boy. He is crawling everywhere and pulling himself up to everything. He is trying lots of new foods like Ty (Pennington's) homemade rolls, rice, ravoili, pizza, and waffles are his favorite. Actually anything with carbs are his favorite, just what the boy needs right. We went on a trip to Gardner Village to see the witches.

Update

Mike had last week off school so I put him to work in our house. I had quite a list of things I wanted done and he managed to get them done pretty quickly. First on my list was getting our guest room painted. The room is not quite done, I would still like a night stand but atleast we have it painted. So it is all ready for those who would like to visit West Jordan. We also painted our room a light green. I absolutely love the color. I was looking for a headboard and two night stands. Then the hot water heater went out. We can take warm showers but we don't have our bedroom set. We will have to wait a couple weeks.

Kaden playing at his Grandma and Grandpa's house. While we got away for a peaceful night in Heber.

Kaden loves swinging at the park. He was in the swing for about 45 minutes just people watching. We went with his Aunt Brook, Jalen and Landon.

Hudson came over to play.

Big Boy and a New Home

Well we didn't blog for over a month and now two posts in one day. Mike is the ambitious one. I told some friends the other day I was done blogging. I am just exhausted by the end of the day and crash.
Kaden is pulling himself up to everything. He has also climbed one step. He has two teeth now so the past couple weeks he has been really fussy.
He loves Cheerios and also ate some pizza the other night.

Mike finally got his TV he has been wanting for years. This room still has very bare walls but has lots of furniture.
This is the one room is our new home that is pretty much done. This mirror is hung now, this picture was taken a few weeks ago. Mike also has to take down the rod above the pictures it is still there from when we moved in. Chelsey helped me decorate thank goodness because I have no decorating skills. We spent a whole Saturday shopping and only finished one room. I still have a lot of things I would like to do. The big projects are painting our guest room and our bedroom. I will post pictures of them once we are done painting and decorating.

Football Games

Saturday we took Kade to his first U of U football game. He and Hudson had a great time until half time when Kade fell asleep. We had gone to the BYU game the week before, however he only lasted until half time and was wiggling and squirming around so we had to leave. I guess he's a Ute fan.

Back to the Grind

Well things have been a little crazy the past few weeks. I am back to work and things are going pretty good. I only have only 22 students in my class right now so that is a major plus. I am sure I will get a few more soon because traditional schools starts this week. Every year a handful of kids come in with their parents saying we didn't know school started already.

Last weekend my younger brother Andy was hit by a car in Provo. He was crossing the street with a friend and a 17 year old girl making a left hand turn ran into him. He had surgery on his nose this last week and he will need a lot of dental work done. Other than that he has lots of scrapes and bruises.

Mike just got back from New York City. He went with his friend Ty. He really wanted to go to a Yankees game before the staduim closed. While he was gone Kaden started running a fever so I took him to the doctor and he has an ear infection. I am thankful Mike is back, I don't know how single moms do it.

We are also closing on our new house this week if all goes as planned. We are only moving about a block away but it will still be a lot of work. It will be great to be in a bigger home and I am very excited to have Chelsey come help me decorate.

Kaden has begun crawling the past few weeks. He thinks it is pretty cool to crawl under our coffee table. Being a mom has just become more exhausting. He loves cords so if he sees one he is there before I know it. I have to start baby proofing the house.

My sister took Andy to get his surgery this last week. Brook told me about this conversation between Andy and the doctor in the recovery room. Keep in mind Andy had an ice pack on his face so he couldn't see anything.

Someone enters the room

Andy " Is that you doc?"

Doctor "Yeah"

Andy " Did you fix my nose up real good"

Doctor "Yeah"

Andy " You didn't give me no Michael Jackson nose did you?"

Brook could barely stop laughing enough to tell me the story.

Summa, Summa, Summer Time!

Well it has been a very long time since I have blogged and I have no excuse except laziness. I have been out of school for about five weeks now and it has flown by. It has been great spending so much time with Kaden. We have enjoyed visits from both of his grandmas. His grandma Bibler came last week and we did lots of fun things. We went to Seven Peaks on the Fourth and he loved the pool. We laid towels on our picnic table so he could take his afternoon nap. We did fireworks that night at my sisters house and Kade slept through most of them.

We went to Pioneer Village last week our second time there this summer. I put him on the smallest pony so we could get a picture.

We went up to Rexburg last weekend to hang out with Keri, my sister, and checked out her new apartment. We enjoyed a picnic in the park and grandma gave Kade his first Dr. Pepper. Too bad Kaden doesn't know how to sip from a straw.

Andrea and Barlow stopped by on there way home from Colorado so Kade and Jace got to play together. They looked so cute playing in the crib so I went to grab the camera when I got back to take the picture Kade was sucking on Jace's toe.

Roommate Reunion in St. George
Kade and I just got back from St. George. My college roommate Mary lives in St. George and some of the girls I lived with up at BYU-Idaho got together for a weekend of fun, without our husbands!! We went to the pool, shopping, dinner, and talked about the good old days up in Rexburg. We had a blast. Brody and Kade did really well in the car.

Brody and Kade enjoyed the swings at the pool. We also took them down the slides. Kade got a lot of water in his face but he didn't seem to mind.

We got to lay out at the pool for a little while. Kaden fell asleep so I could actually relax for a few minutes and lay out. The rest was definitely needed since I only got a few hours of sleep the night before. We had a late night of talking and Kade was up much of the night when I finally went to bed.

Kade and Cash all tuckered out from playing in the pool.

We went to dinner that night and Kade loved to watch our cook doing tricks and lighting fires on our grill. All the people around laughed at how big his eyes got when the flames moved across the grill.

During dinner I was telling Mary how Kade has just started to reach for plates and grab at things on the table. A few minutes after that he grabbed my water and it went all down the front of me. I got some stares on my way out, I am sure people thought I peed my pants. We had a great time in St. George it was wonderful to catch up and enjoy time with friends.

Tornadoes, Snowstorms, and Boating in Colorado

Last weekend we went to Colorado to see Mike's family. We had quite an exciting trip. We stopped to grab some dinner in Rawlins and Mike heard at the gas station some tornadoes had touched down near Fort Collins. Then on our way down from Laramie we hit a really bad snowstorm. I think I cried in the car more than Kaden. Once we finally got there we had a great weekend. We went boating, shopping, and to a Rockies game. It was great to get away and relax. Kade got spoiled by his grandparents and aunt.

When we went boating it was to cold to actually get in the water. Mike dared me to jump into the water for $2o, I said yeah right how about $150. Then he upped it to $200 so I jumped in. It was very cold but definately worth it for some new clothes. Kaden enjoyed walking down the beach and soaking up the rays.
Kade's first baseball game was a blast. He enjoyed the game as long as the crowd wasn't noisy. If a team scored he would pucker up his lip and cry. He was a trooper all weekend being carted around Colorado.

Kade's 4 month visit
Height: 25 inches
Weight: 16.7 lbs.
He is growing so fast. I was worried about how small he was when he was born but he chunked up real fast. He spit up all over me today, right after he spit up he began laughing really hard. It was very cute. He rolled over for the first time today and was like wow what did I just do.
Hudson Petra Kaden
Masha, Jackie, and I all registered for the same bouncer. We went to go play games a couple weeks ago and decided we needed some pics with the kids in their matching bouncers. Hudson was about two weeks old at the time, Petra and Kaden were born two days apart. (Even though it looks like two months apart.)
Kaden doesn't know what to think about his jumper.

Saturday, April 26, 2008

Kaden had a lot of fun in Ohio. He was held by his grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles all day long. This made him pretty upset when we got home and wasn't held constantly.
Our weekend away in St. George was very relaxing. Kaden loved being outside in the warm weather.
Kaden enjoys eating as you can tell by how big he is. It goes straight to his thighs, cheeks, and chin. He just started eating cereal. We can't get it to his mouth fast enough before he starts crying.
Kaden's mom and dad sure know how to dress. He danced to Madonna till he passed out at the 80's party we went to last weekend. We tried to tight roll his pants but they didn't stay.
I bought this cute hat when I was shopping a couple weeks ago. Apparently Kade doesn't think it is as cute as I did.
