Wilson Family: November 2008

We had a wonderful week with my Dad coming to visit from Ohio, my sister from Idaho, and hanging out with my family that lives here in Utah. I think I gained 5 lbs from the few meals we made and the many my Dad treated us to. Kaden also had his 9 month check up yesterday. He is 10 months but somehow he got a month behind on his visits to the doctor.

I have been off track for the past week and still get to enjoy time off with Kaden the rest of this week. We had some great moments and some not so great moments. I am trying to not be such a push over with him sleeping in his crib. So my goal for while I am off track is to try and get him to take a nap with out being rocked to sleep or comforted for hours at his cribside. He has also been waking up around 5:00 in the moring and I just bring him into bed with us and rock him back to sleep. I wouldn't be able to sleep because he is so heavy and he would lay on my chest and I would have trouble breathing.

So I started this plan of letting him cry it out on Friday. He woke up at 5 am and cried until 7 am. He went down for his nap at 10 am and cried until 11:30. After all those hours of crying I couldn't take it and I got him out. So all he learned for his morning nap was that if he cries for an hour and a half his mom will finally give in. Then Mike came home Friday afternoon and I went to my sister to get a break. Mike put him down at 2pm and he cried until 4pm, then he fell asleep. We are on day 5 of this and he still cries anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. Other than nap time he has been a very happy boy. He is crawling everywhere and pulling himself up to everything. He is trying lots of new foods like Ty (Pennington's) homemade rolls, rice, ravoili, pizza, and waffles are his favorite. Actually anything with carbs are his favorite, just what the boy needs right.
